Mount Dora Lawn Bowling Club

"A day to learn, a lifetime to master"

Social activities

Various times during the year. Check the Announcements on the home page for updated information and points of contact.
We love to lawn bowl and we also love to party! There are ten regularly scheduled social events throughout the year (over and above the monthly hot dog Saturdays). These include Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, the Annual Banquet, Founders Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, the Ladies Social, Homecoming and Christmas. These are large events featuring either a luncheon or supper and some may be preceded or followed by bowling. There are also numerous other events during the year.

Every Tuesday at 12:30pm. In the clubhouse. POC: Anne Reilly
An ancient Chinese game played with tiles. Its been called "the easiest game to learn and the hardest to master". No sign up, no cost - just come join the 12-20 regulars - we always welcome new learners. And its fun!
Second Friday of every month. Start time 7pm in the clubhouse. POC: Earl Shaner
Las Vegas too rich for you? You'll love Bunco then. Its a fast-paced dice game you'll be sure to enjoy. Players rotate opponents so it's a great way to meet different people, and with 4 winners each time you can't lose! Each person brings $1.00 and a snack if you like. No sign up necessary - just show up and we'll teach you how to play.
In the clubhouse

Couple's Bridge: 1st & 3rd Friday at 7pm (October-April)

Ladies Bridge: Every Wednesday at 11:30am
Couples Bridge: This is not expert play, so if you just like to play Bridge for fun, this is the group for you. A evening's enjoyment will only cost you 50 cents - now, that's a great price. You don't need to be a "couple" either - bring a pal for a partner. No sign up, but call Sue Roberts if you're interested.

Ladies Bridge: These ladies usually show up early for chatting and maybe even bring their lunch before playing. Sign up with the coordinator (varies monthly).
1st & 3rd Mondays at 6:30pm in the clubhouse. POC: Bob James
An easy and fun card game. We can teach you in one lesson. Both couples and singles enjoy the game. Just bring a dollar for the "kitty" and a snack to share. Sign up on the bulletin board at the Pavillion.
